SHS - Physical Therapy

General

Watkins Memorial Health Center's Physical Therapy Department offers evaluation and treatment of neurological and musculoskeletal injuries/ disorders by three full-time licensed physical therapists. They are assisted in the department by aides who are pre-physical therapy undergraduates.

Hours and Appointments

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, except on Wednesday when the department is open until 8:00pm and some Saturday mornings.
Department hours may vary during holidays and semester breaks. We are located on the second floor of Watkins Memorial Health Center at the south end of the building, just at the top of the stairs/elevator.

Physician Referral

In accordance with Kansas law, a referral/prescription from a physician is required to receive physical therapy services. Consult your primary care physician or a doctor at Student Health Services for a referral to physical therapy. You may contact the Physical Therapy Department at 785.864.9592 to schedule an appointment. Generally, the initial appointment will take 30-60 minutes.

Charges

There is a charge for physical therapy services and supplies. The Student Health Services Business Office can bill your insurance company directly if you provide them with current information.
