KU Immunization Compliance Policy

The University of Kansas requires the following immunizations and/or screenings of its student body:
  • MMR:   All newly enrolled or re-enrolled students born on or after January 1, 1957 must show proof of TWO vaccinations for Measles, Mumps and Rubella. History of the disease, unless accompanied by positive titer, is not acceptable.
  • MENINGITIS:   All students living in university owned group housing are required to be vaccinated for meningitis or to sign a waiver indicating that they refuse to receive the vaccine.
  • TUBERCULOSIS:   All newly enrolled or re-enrolled international students are required to be screened for tuberculosis by Student Health Services upon arrival on campus and prior to enrollment.

Failure to comply with the requirements described above will result in an enrollment hold.

Immunization Compliance Desk:
  • Assists Student with Immunization Compliance questions.
  • Collects the Immunization and Screening Record forms.
  • Helps student with removing immunization holds.

Immunization and Screening Services

All required immunizations and screenings can be given at Watkins Memorial Health Center. Please call (785) 864-9507 to make an appointment.

Immunization and Screening Record Form

  • The Immunization and Screening Record form is to be filled out and signed by a Medical Provider.
  • This form, along with the Health History form, can be turned in at any New Student Orientation session, mailed, faxed or hand carried to Student Health Services.

Immunization Hold

  • To find out if you have a hold and the reason for it, log into your Kyou portal account.
  • If you have an enrollment hold due to non-compliance of the immunization policy, you will need to receive the required vaccinations before your hold can be cleared. Please call the Immunization Compliance Desk at (785) 864-9583 for more information.
  • If you have an enrollment hold due to non-compliance of the immunization policy but have already received the required vaccinations, please bring your vaccination records to the Immunization Compliance Desk located on the first floor of Watkins Memorial Health Center. After verification, the Immunization Compliance Desk will be able to clear your enrollment hold.
