Welcome to Allergy & Immunization Services

Allergy Shots

KU students, faculty and staff may continue their Allergy Immunotherapy Treatment Plan in the Allergy Clinic. We will coordinate your care with the Allergist of your choice.

Immunizations

Students, faculty and staff can get a wide variety of immunizations at Student Health Services. Click here for information on travel vaccines and travel health. Below is a listing of immunizations available and more information about each vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

Chickenpox (varicella)
Flu (Influenza)
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) (Gardasil)
Japanese Encephalitis
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
Meningococcal Disease (bacterial meningitis)
Pneumonia (pneumonia polysaccharide)
Polio
Rabies (pre-exposure)
Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis)
Typhoid
Yellow Fever

Appointments

Allergy

Patients are required to remain in the Allergy Clinic for 30 minutes after receiving an Allergy injection. Patients will show the nurse their Epi-Pen at each appointment.

Immunizations

Many immunizations may require a series of vaccines over the course of a few days up to a few months. Our medical staff will discuss these details with your during your appointment.

Charges

There is a charge assessed for allergy and immunization shots, which is not covered under the required student health fee. The SHS Business Office can bill your insurance company directly if you provide them with current information. Please contact the SHS Business Office at (785) 864-9520 if you have questions.
