Grabbin' Grub in the Residence Halls
If you live in the residence halls, there are many great healthy options for you in the dining facilities. Check out how you can eat well and take care of your body.
Go to the 'BetterBites' page in KU Dining and choose 'BetterBites' when you want a healthier option. Also go to the KU Dining Services page and click on residential dining and choose your dining facility. You can see the next week of menus and plan ahead to include smart choices and more 'BB' entrees. Looking at the menu in advance helps you control your choices and make alternative plans for meals when you need a change of pace while dining.
Tips for the Food Groups
Protein Management:
Choose smaller portions of lean meats such as chicken, turkey and fish and occasionally substitute dried beans, tofu, seeds and nuts.
Cereal and Grains:
Eat whole grains whenever possible.
Calcium Advice:
Dairy products are important for bone health. Try to include up to 4 servings of skim milk, low fat cheese (with BB items) and yogurt every day.

Load up on these. You need 9 servings each day!
Use fats and sugars lightly:
Limit fried foods.

Inspiration:
Your self-worth is your view of yourself as a total person-how you treat others; how you treat yourself; the contributions you make to family, friends, community, and society in general. Your weight is just your weight. Don't measure your self worth through your body weight.
